L'IBAN és un format estàndard i unificat a nivell europeu dels números de compte bancaris. -
L'IBAN no és un nou número de compte, és un nou format del mateix número que té ara.

Aquesta nova codificació li permetrà evitar errors i demores en les seves operacions, tant nacionals com internacionals, assegurant la transmissió correcta de les dades bancèries i evitant el càrrec de despeses innecessàries de les operacions que efectuï amb d’altres bancs.

El format IBAN conté -a més del número de compte- informació sobre el país, banc i sucursal del compte.
Qui ha d'utilitzar el format IBAN?
- Qualsevol persona del Principat que realitzi transaccions bancàries amb tercers, ja sigui per efectuar un pagament o rebre diners.
Com està format l’IBAN?
- Consta de 24 dígits alfanumèrics:
